On December 4th 2008, IMPACT Cincinnati kicked off three months of activism to mourn the passage of Ohio’s Defense of Marriage Act, a legislative process that took little more than three months five years ago. IMPACT Cincinnati members joined together in The Gathering Church in Over-the-Rhine to light candles and candles and speak about why marriage is important to them.

That evening, we each wore a whiite knot — as part of the national campaign, WhiteKnot.org — to show our support for equal marriage, but our commitment to keep on talking about it. . . because everyone, we feel, should be able to tie the knot.
